Superb quarter-plate occupational ruby ambrotype of a guitar player.   While most guitar players we see during this time period have a more amateurish feel to them, this gentleman seems quite the professional.  Dressed in formal attire we can see him entertaining crowds every night while traveling the entertainment circuit throughout the US.   One interesting feature about his appearance is his small head.  He looks like a slightly larger man but his head seems slightly out of proportion to the rest of his body!   The image is in very good plus condition with very realistic tinting to his guitar.  The image has nice tones and contrast with his face just ever so slightly soft in focus.  There is a small mat mark on the top right.  The image is housed in a full case.
